Support Independent Fintech Satire.
The Ledger is independently published, has no investors, and is not currently undergoing a strategic review of its portfolio. Reader contributions fund the monthly contributor prize and the operational costs of the publication.
Why Reader Support Matters
The Ledger is not a venture-backed media operation. It does not have a sales team, a brand partnerships function, or a content quota imposed by an investor deck. It is a small independent publication produced by people who have spent enough time inside the fintech and payments industry to find the language amusing without finding the work itself contemptible.
Contributions cover three things: the operating costs of running the publication (domain, hosting, email), the monthly contributor prize awarded to the Featured Contributor, and the ongoing capacity to keep editorial independence intact.
How To Contribute
The Ledger uses Buy Me a Coffee for reader contributions. It is unobtrusive, low-friction, and aligned to the editorial spirit of the publication – reader-funded, no equity, no influence over editorial.
Opens Buy Me a Coffee in a new tab. The Ledger has no other recurring payment integration at present. Larger or recurring contributions can be discussed via contact@theimmutableledger.com.
What Contributions Fund
Operating costs. Domain registration. Hosting and CDN. Editorial mailboxes. The publication operates lean: most of what readers contribute goes directly to the prize pool and the small set of recurring infrastructure costs.
The monthly contributor prize. Each month the editor selects a Featured Contributor from accepted submissions. The contributor is recognised on the publication and receives a modest cash prize. Larger reader months mean larger prize months.
Editorial independence. The publication has explicitly chosen reader funding over advertising as its primary support model. We retain the option to integrate a real, editorially demarcated advertising network in future, but the editorial mission and editorial independence will not be conditional on that decision.
What Contributions Do Not Buy
Contributions do not buy editorial influence. They do not buy named recognition (the publication is anonymous; contributors and contributors-of-funds are not named publicly). They do not buy a refund. The publication is grateful for support and does not assume entitlement to it.
Other Ways To Help
If you cannot contribute financially, you can support the publication by sharing articles with colleagues, sending tips to tips@theimmutableledger.com, submitting a piece via authors@theimmutableledger.com, or by suggesting topics for future coverage. Quiet support is also welcome and is, in keeping with the publication's voice, the default.
