PRIVACY

The Immutable Ledger Privacy Statement.

A short, plain-English statement of what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do not.

Summary

The Ledger is a static publication that runs on a content delivery network. We do not maintain reader accounts and we do not sell or share reader data with third parties. If approved, this site may display advertisements via Google AdSense or a similar third-party service; those services may use cookies for ad personalisation as described below. The Immutable Ledger does not sell personal information.

What May Be Collected

Anonymous traffic statistics. The publication may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views and referrers in aggregate. Where used, the analytics tool does not place tracking cookies, does not collect IP addresses in personally identifiable form, and does not build cross-site profiles of readers.

Hosting and CDN logs. Our hosting provider records standard web server information, including timestamps, requested URLs, user agent strings, and approximate location at country level. These logs are retained for the period required for security and operational purposes.

Email correspondence. Emails sent to publication addresses are retained for editorial and operational purposes. We do not add correspondents to a marketing list without explicit opt-in.

Newsletter

If a newsletter is offered and you subscribe, your email address is used to send the newsletter and nothing else. The list is not sold, rented, or shared. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying with the word "unsubscribe", or by ignoring the newsletter for long enough that the publication concludes the relationship has matured into mutual silence.

Cookies

If advertising is served on this site, the relevant third-party ad service (such as Google AdSense) may set cookies on your device to personalise ads based on your browsing activity, measure ad performance, and limit how often you see the same ad. These cookies would be set by Google or the relevant third party, not by The Immutable Ledger directly. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Beyond any advertising cookies, the publication does not set its own tracking cookies. If specific functionality requires a first-party cookie – for example, remembering a display preference – that cookie is local to your browser and serves no advertising purpose.

Advertising

If approved, this publication may use Google AdSense or a similar third-party advertising service. If active, that service may serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and its use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads relevant to your interests. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. Alternatively, you may opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies by visiting aboutads.info.

Third-Party Services

The publication integrates a small number of third-party services: hosting (Vercel), domain (Cloudflare Registrar), reader support (Buy Me a Coffee), newsletter delivery (MailerLite), and email aliases (Proton). If advertising is active, Google AdSense will also be integrated. Each service has its own privacy policy. The Ledger does not share reader data with any of these services beyond what is operationally required.
